Motorola Elects David Dorman, Former Chairman and CEO of AT&T, to Serve as Non-Executive Chairman

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced today that its Board of Directors has elected David Dorman to serve as non-executive Chairman of the Board. Mr. Dorman will succeed Ed Zander, the company’s current chairman and former chief executive officer, who will retire as planned upon completion of his term at Motorola’s 2008 Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held on May 5, 2008.

FTC approves AT&T-Verizon Wireless asset swap

IThe Federal Trade Commission approved an impending swap of wireless assets between Verizon Wireless and AT&T. The agency gave the carriers early termination of the waiting period required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust law. The swap sees AT&T acquiring some of Rural Cellular's properties, licenses, network assets and subscribers in New York, Vermont and Washington.
